The London Masons and the Masonic Charitable Foundation has donated £5,000 to support a North London children’s charity, The Theodora Children’s Charity. Their first visit to Great Ormond Street Hospital in 1994 was inspired by Theodora Poulie. Their Giggle Doctors have given joy and laughter to thousands of children during their treatment in hospitals, hospices and specialist care centres. Their reach has continued to grow and now 25 Giggle Doctors visit over 33,000 children each year.

Giggle Doctors visit children in hospitals, hospices and specialist care centres across England. By combining music, play, magic and storytelling bring magical moments to brave children in challenging times. Giggle Doctors are professional performers, highly trained to work both in the medical environment and with children with disabilities. They come from a wide range of backgrounds and bring with them a variety of skills (among our team are actors, entertainers, magicians, musicians and singers). They believe that every sick or disabled child should get the giggles that only a Giggle Doctor can bring.

Emily Swords, Chief Executive The Theodora Children’s Charity said “I am delighted to receive this donation supporting our Giggle Doctors. Thanks to London Freemasonry and the Masonic Charitable Trust our Giggle Doctors will be able to bring more smiles and magical moments to children in hospitals across England.
