The 7th December 2019 meeting of Junior Engineers Lodge No.2913 at Freemasons Hall, London was very much a family affair with the double Initiation of two Lewis’s – a father and a son – one being the son of lodge member W Bro Derek Brown, LGR and the other being his grandson. In addition, there was a Long Service 50 Year Certificate presentation made to W Bro John Foster by Metropolitan Grand Inspector, W Bro Vincent Driver, PSGD.

Worshipful Master W Bro Malcolm Wright performed the Initiation ceremonies of Peter Brown and of Jacob Brown with the Charge after Initiation being delivered conjointly by W Bro Derek Brown, LGR (Father of Peter and Grandfather of Jacob) and their uncle and brother-in-law respectively, W Bro Steve Wheathcroft, LGR. W Bro Derek is himself a Lewis, making Jacob Brown, his grandson, the fourth generation of the family to be initiated into the Lodge.

Following the emotional initiations, The Metropolitan Grand Inspector presented W Bro John Foster with his 50 Year certificate commenting on the wonderful contributions he made to his Lodge and to London Freemasonry in general. The afternoon was a wonderful experience for the members and guests of this 117-year-old Lodge which concluded with a magnificent White Table Festive Board for 38, enjoyed by family and friends alike.
